Halifax Oyster Festival

Halifax Oyster Festival to flex mussels for Halifax Reef Restoration Fun, Tasty Way to Revive Oyster Population in Volusia County

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On Saturday, March 27, 2010, the inaugural Halifax Oyster Festival, Presented by Costa will take place on Manatee Island in the Intracoastal Water along downtown Daytona Beach, Fla.  Coordinated by the Halifax Oyster Reef Restoration Society, the Halifax Oyster Festival is the first of its kind in the Daytona Beach area, and is believed to be the only oyster festival fully devoted to supporting oyster reef restoration.  The day-long event will feature a wide variety of oyster dishes prepared by local restaurants, raw and shucked oysters, live music, liquid refreshments, and hands-on oyster mat construction.  A limited edition poster designed & signed by local artist/activist Perego will be available.  All proceeds will fund the Society’s mission to restore healthy oyster beds to Volusia County’s Intracoastal Waterway.

Mother Falcon + Eli Cannon 3rd Thursday Party

Mother Falcon will be participating in Orlando’s March 2010 3rd Thursday Gallery Hop (on 4th Thursday due to schedule conflicts) and will be hosting Tampa artist Eli Cannon.

With on-premise technology, Mother Falcon can apply art or text to any T-shirt in the store within moments.

Eli Cannon’s artwork will continue to be on display, for sale, and available for T-Shirt printing 3.25.10 to 4.14.10. Mother Falcon will feature a different local artist each month. A portion of the Art T-shirts proceeds goes directly to the artist and are available for a limited time only.

Free beer will be served compliments of Southampton

Art & Hustle Presents “From the Block to the Brush” Closing Party The Progression of Urban Culture

Art-N-Hustle in association with Paul Fisher Gallery Presents “From the Block to the Brush” a closing party and reception for urban artists. For the first time local talented High School students will showcase their work alongside world renowned urban artists such as John “Crash” Matos, Lady Pink, Keith Haring, and Kenny Scharf. Other local artists exhibiting are Studio Six Five, Loren Squire, Adriaan Mol, Christa Z, N.F. Romero, Atomik, and Crome. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for young artists to display their artistc works, therefore our featured high school artists for this event are Cameron Knight, Krystofer Kimmel, and Jose Gaddi.

Real Life Street Fair The re-scheduled “Winter Festival” in the Spring

This festival is to benefit the community, small business owners / entrepreneurs, The Children’s Home, & The Humane Society of Tampa Bay ison target for Saturday 3/20/2010 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. This event will be publicized by radio, TV, & print media. The two charities are aiding in additional coverage.

The festival features food, entertainment, local residential sale items, and shopping for the community. Plan ahead! 10% of all sale proceeds are asked to be donated and will be evenly divided amongst the two charities.

Any leftover sale items can be left on site for The Children’s Home. If you would like to donate items SPECIFICALLY for either charity, you an drop them off at any time.

They will pick up and donate to their thrift store. Tax deductible receipts will be issued by The Children’s Home.
